3 month old crying in the evening

My 3 month old naps really well during the day. Since we are sometimes in and sometimes out for consistency we have her napping in the pram. For the morning nap it takes her a few minutes (if any) to settle, by rocking the pram. The noon-afternoon nap usually takes her a little longer but typically within 10 minutes she's off to sleep. However when it is time for bed (7pm-ish) she cries when being put down and won't settle. We are putting her down in the pram for now because the naps work so well in there. We also often give her a 4pm nap so that by the time it is bed time she is not overtired, or so we think. Any ideas/experiences? I find it really hard to see her so upset in the evening.

My ds went through a similar thing at that age - as did many babies I know of. He's start to howl the same time every evening. At first I thought it was colic but colic remedies did nothing for him so I spoke to my hv and was told it was just a phase that baby would grow out of, a baby's way of destressing at the end of the day. I can't remember exactly how long it lasted but it just stopped as quickly as it started...

Thanks rr16! She only cries when put down: as soon as I pick her up she's quiet. My MIL reckon she is spoilt.... but I think she has to learn how to deal with tiredness a bit better, she is still so young. You are right, it will pass - just wanted to find out whether anyone has any tips.

I don't think a 3mo can be "spoit" per se... She's crying and needs you for comfort. Some babies find tiredness harder to deal with than others I think. Let her nap as much as you think she needs. Good luck.
