15 month old in single bed, nutty idea?

My 15 month old climbs out of her cot, or rather somersaults out which terrifies me. We already have a single bed so are thinking about getting a new mattress and moving her into it. She can already climb quite easily in and out of the single. What do I do about bedding though?
Is she a bit too young?

If she can get in and out safely then I would just go for it. The only reason we went for a toddler bed was because they are much lower than normal singles so less far to fall.

Those Tomy 'travel' bed side rail thingies are quite good, if she moves around at night and you are worried about her falling out of the bed

When my DD was 18 mths she had a terrible nightmare - was screaming and literally jumped terrified into my arms when I went in to her and wouldn't go back in her cot. THere was a single bed in her room so I put her in that with loads of pillows on the floor for that night and she never went back in the cot again. She loved the bed, slept much much better and I never even got around to buying a bed guard. She never fell out although I always had pilllows on the floor until she was older. Best 'decision' I made at the time!

MIne were on futons from birth. Could you just put the mattress on the floor?

HI
Thanks for all your responses
I am considering a toddler bed now as they are lower plus have a headboard - single we already have doesn't have a headboard so I'm worried she'll crawl up and off the edge.

Until then I will put the mattress on the floor
Thanks again!
