We currently cosleep but I want to try and get my 7 week old in a better sleeping position so thought a 3 sided cot would be a good idea. Can anybody recommend a good one please?

Also, when we cosleep my DS sleeps on DH and not on the matress. I know this isn't ideal but it's the only way he'll slepp on a night time.

Hoping the three sided cot will allow him to still cosleep but will be safer.
Thanks

I have an 'arms reach' cot which attaches to the bed, but my 8 week old refuses to use it, preferring to cuddle with me all night. I'm hoping he'll go into it in his own time though and I think it will be useful when he gets a bit bigger, so he can have his own space and I might actually get some sleep..

When I was looking for a co-sleeping cot there was pretty much just the arms reach and a cosatto one- both very expensive tbh. the main difference is that the arms reach one has like a very small side (4 inches I think) so there is a bit of a lip between your bed and the cot. Some people just take the side off a normal cot but I'm not sure how well it works or if it's safe.

As for your baby sleeping on DH, well I'm not sure, I dont think I would feel ok with this personally but then my DH is a deep sleeper and DS sleeps either on my arm or uses a boob as a pillow so probably not the recommended way either! I've found that putting him down in the bedside cot at this stage doesn't seem any different to using a moses basket next to the bed, DS still feels seperated from me and wont stand for it.

Sorry no answers really, perhaps someone with an older baby might be able to help us!

I used a Bed Nest for the first 3 months. Attached to my side of the bed.

Worked well for us, was a god send with breast feeding! Would just slide him on to the bed and move him when he'd finished.

We have the cosatto "close to you" cot. I got it from ebay for £80 and bought a new mattress, It was great for sliding DD in and out.

Thanks for the advice. I bought a 3 sided cot from Ikea and bungeed it to the side of the bed and stuffed the back gap with a towel with the sheet over the top and then put DS into a gro bag. So far so good Wink
