How can I stop 6mo waking so frequently?

I've posted before about dd's sleep and received some helpful tips/reassurance so I'm back for more!

The current problem is after working really hard to get her sleeping the whole night in her cot and getting down to one feed during the night with maybe one other wakening when she could be settled without a feed, things seem to be getting steadily worse and I don't know why.

Last night she was asleep by 7pm (put down awake and fell asleep with a little grumbling and reassurance from me) and woke at 8, 9 (when i fed her in the hope of her sleeping for a longer chunk), 10, 11, 1.30 (when she wouldn't settle until 3am after I gave in and fed her to sleep, then up for the day at 6.30am. I'm not convinced she really needs to feed during the night as she then does not want milk for several hours after waking up for the day.

Any ideas what is going on here or any tips as to how i can sort it out?

Many thanks

Have you started her on solids? My DD started waking like this shortly after we did and I think it was indigestion.

She had been colicy when little and we found 2 squirts of infacol with her last feed has done the trick. HTH

thanks, she has been having some solids for the last few weeks so maybe infacol is worth a try. Only thing is she has only been waking so frequently for the last week or so - before that she seemed able to sleep even though she was eating. Maybe she has increased how much she is actually eating (hard to tell as doing predominantly BLW).

Thanks for your response

How is she with sleeping during the day?

We sometimes have a bad night if daytime naps haven't gone so well and DS (6 months also) is really tired by bedtime. I am obsessed with getting him to have at least a 30 minute sleep in the afternoon otherwise it all goes very wrong.

Or teething?

yes daytime naps can cause problems at bedtime here aswell - I too am obsessive about making sure she naps during the day - even if this occasionally means sitting and cuddling her for an hour to make sure she sleeps.

I had wondered about teething - she is chomping her fingers quite a bit but she has been quite sucky/chewy since she was about 3 months so i can't be sure if that's the problem. Think I might give her some calpol tonight to see if that helps matters any
