DD is 7 months, has only ever woken up a few times in the night since she was 8 weeks..

is firework night (being a bloody Saturday as well) going to be a nightmare?

Any horror stories?

Oh, should mention we are having a bonfire and have told friends if they want to come and bring fireworks they can (how stupid was that!!)

Unless you're in the habit of tiptoeing around the house when she's sleeping (day or night) then it shouldn't be a problem. I used to do the hoovering with DS2 asleep in his moses basket in the same room - slept through - so fireworks were no problem.

I'll be taking them both to the display at the school next door this year

how stupid was that? Very!!

Try to get DD to nap LOADS during the day and keep her up to enjoy it (inside, of course) - might be better than trying to get her to sleep through the noise.

PS. I did the same thing when my DD was 3 months

Thanks both. Think i might put her to bed then and see what happens, she is a nightmare for sleeping during the day if i get an hour out of her all day i'm lucky (but then she does go to bed at six and i have to go and wake her up at 8 in the morning - not on weekend though, she gets to lie in til nine!)

depends how noisy your house is normally - we have had fireworks every night for the last month so dd and ds not bothered (except by those massive atom-bomb-type ones)

GeorgieVickyLou · 28/10/2005 23:01

Dinny - we've had quite a few going off round here, i've heard her stir a few times but she has always settle her self. Just worrid about the amount of them all going off all night really.

Get them to bring the pretty ones that just sparkle and don't make a stupidly loud oh feck is it the Blitz again type noise.

Georgievickylou - found last year there was such a blanket of noise going on they didn't stir. it's much worse to have a couple of the huge bomb ones, ime.

Lockets - pmsl. dd going to her first display tomorrow.
