Probably being neurotic: baby sleeping for ages!

Hello
Background: my EBF DD (18 weeks) was a brilliant sleeper from 6 weeks onwards, 7pm - 10:30pm dreamfeed - 7am. Fastforward to 12 weeks, and she started waking, this gradually got more and more frequent until she was waking every 3 hours, definitely hungry. My instincts told me she needed more milk than she was getting from me, and I introduced a (gasp) bottle of formula at 10:30pm for the last two nights. She's had a breastfeed, then 7oz of formula - she's so hungry! Anyway, straight back to sleep, and both nights has slept right throught to 8am. This morning, she didn't cry to wake us, and I went in and she was just waking up, but not demanding food or crying. I got her up, and she took a massive breastfeed. My worry is, I don't know how much longer she would have slept, had I not gone in. Is this normal?! She's up, happy and alert now, but she slept from 7am-8am with an interruption for a feed at 10:30am, and didn't seem particularly interested in waking up. Thanks in advance!

Hi Olivetti
my ds is 17 weeks and he is FF. he is like a little Pirahna during the day but at night he seems to go ages without food....Has a feed at about 7pm and then he is through to morning (although he is a little wriggler from 2am onwards!) I ALWAYS have to wake him in the am (between 6am and 7am depending on what time I need to get the day going but never later than 7am) and even then he happily coos in his cot, never cries for food!
When I present the bottle to him he drains it as if he was starving and I always think "why didn't he wake himself up or be more fractious when woken??"
Does your DD normally cry to prompt a feed during the day or do you tend to get to her before this point??

See what she does tonight, but she sounds really happy and content, don't worry about her!

Sometimes they need more sleep than usual eg developmental spurts.
