DS sucking his fingers aggressively in his sleep...

My 15 week DS goes to bed at 7, dreamfeeds at 10.30, then stirs - but doesn't wake - between 3 and 4. With his eyes closed, and still half asleep he usually starts sucking his fingers aggressively, slurping away. Does this mean he's hungry? He doesn't always wake but I wake him to feed - he was in hospital around 6 weeks, and is still catching up, but almost there and I don't want to wake him unless anymore unless you think it means he's hungry? He never cries for food in the night, so not sure of the cues.

Hi there
I have a similar issue with my 15 week old! He's not sucking his fingers but making really loud sucking noises, seemingly in his sleep.
Up until about 10 days ago I was waking him and feeding him when he made these noises and he would take the whole feed, however, I have left him for the last 10 days and not only does it not escalate to a cry, he goes into a deep sleep shortly afterwards, feedless!
I think trust your gut reaction and maybe try leaving him for 1 night and see what happens. I always worry that he is hungry but doesnt let me know, however I know in my heart of hearts he would cry if he needed food.
good luck and let us know if he goes through without the feed...
