2.5 yr old & 6 month old - No sleep in our house!!! :(

My 2.5 year old has restarted the nighttime antics until now he has slept in his room in the dark - no light on and door shut. Now he wants the light on and the door open and has been waking 3 or 4 times in the night shouting and screaming until someone goes in. He wont settle down until we tell him off threaten to shut the door and turn the light off, he is waking up our 6 month old who already wakes up 2 or 3 times anyway and has to be boobed back to sleep..... He is also coming into our room about 5.30 in the morning and getting into our bed asking for biscuits (he never ever previously even got out of his bed ever!) .....
Wanna control cry as has worked in past (have had on/off sleep problems with him always) but now we have DD who already wakes up and wont resettle without boob we are scared to (having nitemare getting her onto bottle but thats another story!). Need to control cry them both but how on earth will anyone get any sleep at all.. Should we leave them both to cry through the night and me and DP book into a hotel for a week or two (ha ha)!!!

Could you take ds out and buy him a special nightlight and get him a sticker chart and reward him for staying in bed a la Little Angels?

Sticker charts worked for my ds when he was 2.5. He's now 5 and sleeps brilliantly. Wish I could say the same for dd (11.5 months!!)

We have tried the plug in glow lights he dosnt like them am gonna try the autofade light (need a new bulb).
Have also tried sticker charts both the basic smiley face sad face stickers and a climb the fire engine ladder one, he dosnt seem to get the concept or care whether he gets a good boy sticker or not. We have threatened to take things away and give treats if good, he just dosnt seem bothered. Very stubborn rule the roost kinda boy.
We have found his old giraffe teddy and he seems to like having it in bed with him so we put giraffe to bed and say not to wake him up and he cuddles him & tells me to be quiet giraffe sleeping but it hasnt made any difference to the wakings, in fact now when he appears early in the morning he tells me giraffe still in bed (wish he was!)
What to do eh!
Have heard of the rabbit ears wake up clock where can I get one of those?

You poor thing. I've been moaning about my DDs sleep problems on another thread, but I don't have another baby to deal with. You must be exhausted!

I'm still working on my DDs problems, but I solved some problems by putting in a night light (quite a bright one) and stopping getting up to her in the night. Now she's sleeping through and has stopped waking up and crying for me.

She also wakes up very early and I'm hoping the bunny alarm clock will fix things. I'm going to try staying in bed being boring until 7am to see if she starts to get the message that nothing interesting is happening until then.

Good luck with your DS, I really hope you can get some good sleep soon.
