Moving naps from sling to moses basket/cot

Our three and half mo DS has always napped in a wrap sling during the day and having patiently waited for three months like everybody tells you to, I'm getting to the point where I'd ideally like to try and get him napping in either his moses basket or cot instead (he's getting heavier, I can't really do much during his nap time for fear of waking him, plus I fear it may become harder once he starts teething etc).

He's recently started sleeping in his moses basket at night rather than in bed with me, so feel we may stand a chance, but I can feed him to sleep at night which doesn't work during the day - even if I do manage to get him to sleep by feeding, as soon as I try and move him to the moses basket, he is fully alert and awake again.

Does anybody have any tips or success stories? Any suggestions for how to make the transition a bit more gradual perhaps? Obviously don't want to just let him cry but would really really like to be able to have him nap somewhere other than the sling...

Read Elizabeth Pantley's no-cry sleep solutions and the baby whisperer for shush/pat technique. Really helped me to get 15wo to nap in cot during the day (yet to see improvement in night but that's another story!)
If I get it right, she now sleeps for 1.5-2 hrs in the middle of the day in her cot - what a relief!
You need to be VERY dedicated and persistent for about 2 weeks. Don't start and then give up - it's not fair on him. There will obviously be some crying, but not too much and never on his own.
Good Luck!

Thanks! Just got no-cry sleep solution from the library - where there any parts you found particularly useful? Will read up on shush/pat too and try to get myself psychologically prepared!
