co-sleeping help

Hi,
I've been googling for a bit of advice about co-sleeping and not really been able to find anything.

So advice / opinions on this would be great; my DD sleeps in a grobag in a cot until about 4/5am when she thinks it's morning. bless.

So at this point I normally put her on the bed next to me on top of the duvet down the bed a bit away from the pillows, and hope to get a couple more hours sleep.

Now, I know babies shouldn't be underneath duvets but is there any reason why they shouldn't lie on one? Because quite frankly it's too cold not to have one!

She never really got the hang of feeding lying down so I sit up to feed [bf] anyway.

She seems to be on a bit of a growth spurt and has added a couple of feeds throughout the night so I'd like to just have her on the bed with me most of the night to get a bit more sleep.

So am I doing it all wrong?!

Without knowing her age it's hard to advise. But you can usually lie babies on duvets as long as it doesn't go over their heads. If you are on your side, and she's between your armpits and your curled up knees, and your body is curled around her, that's the safest thing. A bit of skin to skin contact as good as well as that helps with mutual temperature regulation, but it sounds like you've got a good formula going there so I woulnd't worry too much from what you have said here.

Have done this with both of mine for the first year of their lives and had no problems at all. Sounds fine to me!

I do this with my DS if he wakes too early in the morning! No problem at all with this as far as i can tell.
