5mo teething affecting sleep? am I misreading the signs?

My DS has never been a particularly good sleeper, we have always had to block the world out to get him to take naps and even when sleeping through he has woken once or twice a night needing settling back to sleep. In the past three weeks or so we have hit a wall, no two nights are the same, he will wake anything from every 45 mins to 3 hourly. He has previously settled well with a dummy and even since this all started will go 5/6 hours (e.g 12-6) and wake every 45mins either side - i don't think its a settling issue?

He is constantly chewing things, dribbling with big red cheeks - can teething disturb them this much? has anyone else experienced this or anything like it? I'm starting to go a little crazy with all the interrupted sleep etc...any advice, ideas much appreciated :)

teething can turn dreambaby into devilchild. If that helps?

by which I meant - it definitely sounds like he is teething. And teething can definitely impact on all sorts of behaviour - sleeping, eating, general levels of grumpiness.
Get those 'powders' things [time passed emoticon] they're supposed to help.
And repeat to yourself "it's just a phase, it's just a phase"

thanks for replying tigana. He has been very off, not taking bottle (we had to wean early to get something into him) and he seems a lot more clingy than he used to be.

The frustrating thing is that we still don't have any teeth!!! and i'm also worried that I am going to end up with more problems once its passed, needing to sleep with me or have me constantly re-settle him :(

This should be my new mantra..."its just a phase..."

I'd suggest not worrying about 'afterwards', until afterwards. Just get him and you through this phase - and worry about the next phase when it arrives Smile.

How long has he been off his milk feeds for? Have you seen his GP? probably you have....

Is was off them quite a while say 2 weeks but has since started taking them again, I'm concerned that teeth isn't the answer!?
