I know that in italy and spain , if children are bad sleepees, doctors can prescrbe medicine to meke them sleep. Normally anti-hystamines. Do you know if here there is something in the market that can gicpve them?

I know that you can give Fenegan to children. I think it's over the counter but you have to give a good reason for wanting it. Normally a long haul flight. Saying you want to knock the little one out doesn't seem to go down well(IME which was 12 years ago)

When I was about 7 or so the doc gave my Mum tranquilisers to make me sleep.

Bloody hell thats awful and doesnt address the underlying issues either

I always feel asleep with travel sickness tablets though - couldnt be roused on some coach trips apparently.

Don't know if Medised is still available - I think its paracetamol with an antihistamine. Braved a very disapproving pharmacist when desperate for dcs to sleep after a couple of horrendous days and nights quite a few years ago.

Didn't work, unfortunately, antihistamines don't seem to have the same effect on everybody.

Have you tried the non drug methods of getting them to sleep? Controlled crying etc. How old are they?

Medised can now only be given to over 6s. When I used to give it to dS (when it was 3 months +) it made him a bit violent. Like an aggressive drunk!

Piriton also does the same thing but I would only use it if they were actually ill.
