How do you ensure your toddler stays covered at night?

Actually she's 3.5, not quite the toddler anymore and certainly too big for a grow bag.

Can't solve this particular problem. When she sleeps in her own bed, she is always lying on TOP of her duvet whenever I check her. It's not been warm in our house this winter and she has had pneumonia and many coughs/colds. I find that she catches a cold easily at night so I end up putting her in my bed with me just to keep her warm, but this cant go on! DH ends up on a fold-out bed.

When do they learn to keep themselves covered and what can I do meanwhile?

thanks for any advice

Is it possible her duvet is actually too warm? My ds - similar age - pushes his off when he's too hot (eg when the heating is still on, after he's gone to bed but before we have), then gets back under when it goes off. Maybe a lighter tog would help?
Or making the bed with a sheet as well as the rivet to stop her be able to kick it off?

Really like that idea of making it with a sheet too Rooble, thankyou. Yes I do have a lighter tog..will dig it out.

Oops just realised my automatic spell check turned the duvet into a rivet! Interesting idea, riveting her bedding onto the bed!
