Ideas to stop 4month old shuffling around the cot - I'm like a Zombie this morning

Hello

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or had seen something I could buy to stop 4 m DD shuffling around her cot bed druing the night and ending up up against the cot bars screaming for someone to come rescure her. I was up 4 times between midnight and 4am last night and on the 5th occassion I gave up, popped her back in her moses basket and & took her in the spare room to sleep with me. She moved into her new cot about a week ago.

I did think of rolling up a towel and putting this one side but i was knackered druing the night and couldnt reason whether this would actually be quite risky, so it took it back out.

Thanks for reading & any advice you have to offer.

Do you have a bumper around the cot?

My DS done the same, I think its just having the extra space. He can turn himself right around!!

Also, when he was thrusting about like a mad man, 2 days later a tooth came through. She could be teething.

Hope you get some rest today :)

Thanks for your reply - I missSleep too!

No I dont have a bumper, thought it again might be unsafe (paranoid 1st time mum here). Did you find that helped?

She's always been quite wiggly if you know what i mean, even in the moses basket she was trying to go somewhere. But she cant quite roll from back to tummy yet.

Thanks,:) meant to be meeting a friend for lunch and a stroll in the park but I might fall asleep in my sandwich!

Has anyone tried anything else?

I'm also a paranoid first time mummy :)

Yes it did help, as long as the bumper is attached to the cot I don't see why it should be dangerous.

Worth giving it ago to see if it makes a difference :)

Bumpers aren't recommended but you could try a thin towel or sheet rolled up like a sausage and put in an inverted U shape to mimic the moses basket? As long as you arrange it so it can't unfurl or cover his face it should be ok.

Try an Airwrap. You can get two-sided and four-sided versions and I bought one for DS to solve this problem without the associated risks of bumpers. It works just fine.

Thanks everyone :) much appreciated

Whilst online and googling like a mad knackered woman I actually found the airwrap and have ordered one from kiddicare which should arrive tomorrow! Never have I been so exicted about a delivery.

Nice to see DD has made up for the ups and downs of last night with nearly a 2 hour nap this morning - previously unheard of! Hmm

More coffee for me.
