Hi,

I'm nearing the end of my tether. My gorgeous DD has been sleeping less and less.

She slept through from 10-7 at the tender age of 6-12weeks then in Jan started Waking up at 3am. Ah the 3 month growth spurt I thought so just got on with it.

4 weeks later she is up at 2am and 5am and just growing along her 50th percentile as normal.

Last week we were up every hour on the hour and I haven't been able to string more than 2 hours together in almost 2 weeks.

I tell myself it will pass, but some real life evidence and stories might just get me through another night.

Morning MummyBeth.

I feel your pain. My DS has always been a good sleeper, but the last few weeks it has been anything but a peaceful night. He is 6 months and got his first 2 teeth at 4 months, going to bed isn't a problem. He goes down at 7:30pm.
Wakes at 11pm for a feed, then wakes again at 3am and I will probably be up with him till 5am :(

Some nights are good and he goes straight back to sleep at 3am. But last night I got about 4 hours sleep. Things will settle down. THEY HAVE TO RIGHT?!!

I know at 6 months there is a growth spurt and he's teething. I've forgotten what a good night sleep is!

Hello MummyBeth,

I couldn't work out how old your DD is? Anyway, my DS also slept pretty well until 16 weeks when the dreaded four month sleep regression hit and he went from 1/2 wakes a night to abou 6. By 2 weeks ago, he was going down at 7 and then waking for feeds at about 8.30, 10.30, 12.30 and so on at 2 or 1 hourly intervals through the night. Well I decided he couldn't possibly need feeding each time (he is EBF and just started weaning which he loves!) Oh he is 26 weeks now...

Well we picked a week when my DP was off work and I slept on the sofa (DS was in a sidecar cot). When DS woke, my partner cuddled, soothed etc and woke me to feed him at about 11pm and 4am only. Well then first few nights were really difficult with quite a few tears (DS was not left at all and was fed if we thought he was hungry) Within 3 days he had dropped the early wakings and it has got better and better.
We also bit the bullet after a week and moved him into his own room and that has helped too.

So last night is pretty typical, down at 7, woke at midnight, popped dummy back in and off he went again! Woke again at 3 and fed (I was dream feeding but he was hardly eating so dropped it), woke at 6, gave dummy, woke 6.45 up for day.

I am a new woman!

HTH, good luck

My little lady is 18 weeks, I don't think she's hungry at night when she wakes but popping her on the boob works, and I ahve to say whilst she is up A LOT she goes back down quickly and I am able to go back to sleep easily - although I do often wake up and panic 'cause I can't remember if I put her back into her cot.

She shows no interest in food and is happyily going 3-4hours between feeds during the day so I don't think early weaning will help.

I thought she might be teething as she is gnawing on everything, drooling buckets and has wee rosie cheeks but nothing seems to be happening.

I know I just have to ride this one out but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
