Sleeping too much? Don't hate me

Hi,

DS is 7 months now and has suddenly cracked naps it would seem. He's been asleep now for nearly 2 and a half hours, and will most likely have another hour and a half to 2 hour nap this afternoon. Firstly, this seems like a lot of daytime sleep, is it?

Secondly, his night time sleep is lot more disturbed since cracking the naps, he sleeps from about 8 - 12/1 and then can be up every hour from then. I wondered if he is reverse cycling?

Should I be waking him from day time naps in an attempt to get him to sleep better at night or just let him do what comes naturally?

He's also spurted 4 teeth, learnt to crawl and sit up in the last month, so am anticipating that this has had something to do with the wonky sleeping...He's BFed and BLWed, so not eating masses of solids yet.

Thanks, chillichill...

He didn't go for his afternoon nap at all so I guess no need to worry really...tho he does do it most days.

My son was another one more asleep than awake as a baby. 2 hours in the morning, same again pm. Also had a good 10 hours at night but liked to be up early... 5am-6am. As a toddler he dropped the morning nap and when he started school he still had a tendency to nod off at the end of the day!! "Does he go to bed early enough?" asked the teacher.

All we had to make sure of was that he had a nicely full tummy at night. Dinner at about 5pm followed up with a late snack at bathtime - in our case bananas and warm milk.

Good luck

Ok thanks Chil, I did try to give him his tea earlier yesterday, about 5ish, but he was too tired...

Ironically, he seemed to sleep bettr having hardly any dinner than he does when he's eaten a full meal.
