How long do you think is an acceptable amount of time to continue this for until I give up and get 14 month old DS up?

I have done 3/6/10/15/20 and now on 25 mins. He is not in the least bit sleepy. He fell asleep having some BM but woke as I put him down in his cot and is now screaming the absolute place down bouncing up and down in his cot.

I would listen to him, he's trying to tell you something. He is not tired. i would give up now.

purepurple. I have given up! He is now calmly and happily sat my my lap and having cuddles.

Poor thing. Mean mummy.

Pavlov, you're not mean. You're (presumably) knackered and desperate. And I am guessing that by 14 months you know when he's tired so presumably that's why you were trying to put him down!

I would recommend the No Cry Sleep Solution if you're not keen on CC - I was never good with that either.

narmada I have tried everything else, which is why I did controlled crying. It was The Last Straw for night time, and it worked on the first night, thankfully, and at night time I don't have any issues (until 5am but thats another thread!) with the CC as that first night sorted it.

But, I sort of guessed that it would be a bad idea to mix them up and use a different method in the day than at night.
