Daytime naps - help needed!

Having real trouble getting my 13 wk old DS to sleep during the day, other than when he is in the car or in the pram. Up until 2 weeks ago he would settle in his cot or bouncy chair for a nap, as long as I picked up the tired signs in time. Now he only sleeps when we're out and about! Any tips for how to settle him in the house?
Thanks

Hi, My DH has recorded the Hairdryer and uploaded it to the net at the following address:

Hairdyer.wav

I haven't tried inserting links before, so hope the one above works!

He informs me that the file is 60 seconds in duration and about 1.26Mb, so it may take a little while to download.

Apparently, you can increase the duration of the file by using the sound recorder tool in windows - just copy and paste several times to increase the duration. Alternatively, you can create multiple tracks on you CD which are 60 secs each.

I hope this works as well for you as it has done for us!!

great Pumpkin2! Will have a listen.

We managed to record the hairdryer, but the microphone we've got is quite crap and it doesn't sound much like one. I'll try and get it on the web too. If not, if you'd like to hear it I'll send it by email.

The lengths we go to!

Yippee!!! Tried out the CD last night (or rather this morning at 5am!) and it WORKED!

Just need to work on removing that 5am wakeup

Thanks again.

Hurray ! Glad it worked for you ! We have managed to get down to one night waking with it - but he still wants to be fed at that one - even though I think he probably doesn't NEED to be fed ! We shall persevere, hopefully once he's nearer 6 months he'll go through....

Hi Pumpkin2, CD worked again this morning, but I've got one problem... I have to get out of bed to put it on and then again 20mins later to turn it off.

How do you control your CD? Is ds in your room or his own (ours is in his own). I might redo the cd with a 15min track so it turns off automatically.. can't think of anything else to make it easier.

Hi, our DS is also in his own room, and the track of hairdryer noise we've recorded is 20 mins long - I find thats long enough usually to get him to sleep (and long enough for me to be listening to it on the monitor !) HTH
