Can the 4 month sleep regression manifest itself in daytime naps?

Hi! Quick question, can the dreaded 4 month sleep regression show up in daytime naps? DS used to take 2.5 hours across the middle of the day, now he wakes up yelling after about 1 - 1.5 hours. Morning and afternoon naps are only 30 minutes apiece so are as yet unaffected. He is still going well through the night at the moment, just at a bit of a loss really. Should I attempt to re-settle him? He isn't too keen on settling back in his cot at lunchtime, but will chill out downstairs with me fairly happily. Any advice/suggestions?

They just need less sleep the older they get. Newborns are more asleep than awake. By 4 months they're a bit more interested in their surroundings and need more stimulation. If he's getting 2 x 30 minute naps and another hour and a half on top that sounds pretty good. Time to get out the toys and so forth!

How do I play with him? What games/toys are good for him? I do tend to have the TV on in the background but just because I'm alone all day and I like the 'company' of low voices. Is that ok? Thankyou for the reply Smile

I am having the same problem and I don't think it is that they need less sleep as she is getting overtired with it! Nightmare

I think it is the sleep regression, I am clinging to that hope anyway and fingers crossed it gets better. But yes I would defo try and resettle him if he wakes and is clearly still tired
