2yo waking up angry from naps

My DD wakes from her afternoon nap in a foul mood.

Is this an indication that she needs more or less sleep?

Could be a blood-sugar dip. Try offering a snack and a drink.

Thank you, I do, but she usually refuses them. Maybe I need to work harder on distracting at the same time

Could just be that she needs some time to "come round"? DD1 went through a phase of this; I ended up popping her in front of the television for 20 mins by which time she was suitably recovered to be in human company again Grin

Drink of milk and a digestive biscuit.

Thank you Smile

will buy some digestives today

I've tried the tv trick with some success - she was quiet while watching it, and then impossible for the rest of the afternoon

I have video footage of my two waking from a nap and wailing for about 10 mins, which they used to do regularly. It was towards the end of the napping years, so it might be worth trying to cut down/out the nap to see how that goes. Is she only just two or older? DS1 napped until he was over 3, but ds2 dropped his much earlier and I know people whose DC had dropped naps completely before they turned 2.

she has only just gone two

days where she's had no nap have been better, but she has slept very badly that night (overtired?)

I hope she naps until she is over 3 Grin

Oh it was bliss, but ds2 cottoned on to the fact that ds1 wasn't having a nap almost instantly, and that was the end of that. But it's actually not as bad as you think - all that worrying about them actually getting the nap disappears and you can go out for whole days again. Grin

Ah, but I can currently go out for days, knowing that she will sleep in her buggy for an hour or so, allowing me some peace Grin
