10mo DD refusing bedtime feed - what to do?

10mo DD has refused (well, barely touched)her bedtime bottle and I am worried she is gong to wake in the night hungry.

She did the same last night (although she drank about 3-4oz) and woke at 2am screaming, whereas she had been sleeping through. I put it down to teeth as I know she has some on the way, but I think it was a bit of hunger too as she gulped away at my boob for 5 mins!

I recently stopped BFing before bed as she started to faff about on the boob (I put it down to the fact that I don't think I am producing very much now and so have switched to bottle) she also has bottle only in the day, with just a BF on waking (about 7am)

SHe has increased her food intake a bit, but I didn't think it seemed enough to mean she wouldn't need bedtime milk Confused

Does anyone else have any experience of this?

anyone?

Is this too young to drop bedtime feeds? or is it normal?

Thanks Smile

only sympathy here. as in my 10 month old, is teething terribly and sometimes doesn't eat like normal..

I too have just weaned and stopped breastfeeding. My baby has stopped the 7am feed and now goes straight to breakfast in the morning. Milk at 11am, 3pm, 7pm.

I night weaned at about 8.5 months... so I really try to make sure she has a lot during the day, both food and milk so I feel ok about not feeding at night.
However, baby is waking a lot...so I am not sure what I am doing is right.

I wouldn't drop a feed, its probably just an off day where her teeth made her not want milk...

thanks queenballerina - she woke in the night (well 11.30pm actually) looking for milk. I knew that would happen. I BF but that didn't seem to be enough and I still had to give her 4oz from a bottle Confused

I think my milk is starting to dry up...

Didn't get to sleep until well gone 1am because she then decided to poo! It took a lot of crying, trotting off to her room to settle, cuddling etc before she eventually slept! Sad
