Is he suddenly waking up crying at 4am, no matter when he goes to bed? Why won't he sleep during the day anymore and why hasn't he got any teeth what so ever yet at v nearly 9months.

He's upstairs screaming now, do I give in or leave him to get over it?

We are moving on friday so I have to pack some boxes, this is driving me nuts

Maybe the teeth are starting to come - it does make them have disturbed nights etc. Is he drooling and chewing on things?

Try some Nelson's teetha powder and/or some calpol, if that works it's probably teething. Or could he have an ear infection?

BTW I had my dd's 1 year birthday party yesterday and there was a little girl there with no teeth at 1, so wouldn't worry about that! My little beast on the other hand got her first tooth at 4 months. They are all different.

Good luck with the move btw

he won't take calpol I got him to have a little bit but then he was sick all over me (usual response to calpol).

He's drooling like mad and eating his hands loads, but he's been doing that for months and still not seen any pegs?

He's still screaming

you can get paracetomal suppositories instead which wouldn't make him sick. Sounds like he's teething.

Have you tried teetha?

spikeycat · 08/09/2003 12:13

no. Can I get it from any chemist? He is still screaming his brains out......

I have got him up, calmed him down - he's been up since 4 and keeps rubbing his eyes, I think he is over tired now so am going to leave him, although I hate it.....

I agree sounds like teething. It's horrid when it happens, poor little man...... poor you as well!

Try frozen chips, they should sooth his sore gums.

SamboM · 08/09/2003 12:16

The other thing my dd found good was calgel.

You can get Teetha in boots, Holland and Barret and most chemists and waitrose.

katierocket · 08/09/2003 12:19

ambusol (can't remember spelling) also very good - it's a clear liquid so easier to rub on than a gel

spikeycat · 08/09/2003 12:36

given in and so now he's down stairs - still screaming.

Poor you Spikey cat.

Don't worry about the teeth thingy... my friends wee girl didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 months. Shes 16 months now and got 6 through last week!!

Maybe your ds is getting a whole load cutting through at once. No new advice for you....

Good luck.

try ashton and parsons teething powder, dont know how, but it worked with my first son.

spikeycat · 09/09/2003 11:22

Thanks for asking dinosaur, he went down fine last night, and woke at 6.15 this morning, which was great. About to try and put him down for morning sleep earlier than usual as I have my nuchal scan this afternoon. Guess we will see how is goes, fingers crossed!

Everyone said my ds was teething for months and months but he was over one when he got his first.

AussieSim · 09/09/2003 14:54

I use the paracetamol suppositories with my ds(there doesn't seem to be any other form available over here in DE). For babies this age they are 125's. I was told my ds was teething @ 3mths and the first turned up @ 7mths.
