what an odd reply to you babyrose!
i am not aware of any evidence that organic mattresses help this!
either your lo is hungry or not. if so then feed, if not do you have a partner that can take over at night and resettle in another way?
how to tell tho if hungry or not i'm not too sure, i kept my nightfeeding going till 14m cos i was so anxious my dd might be hungry......
i coslept btw and feeding lying down saved my life
dd still asks for 'booba' some nights at 19m, but i say no now

i know sounds like somebody trying to sell something!ive been feeding to sleep for months. he gets plenty food, i think it might be out of habit. dh is going to settle him at nights.

I think you might have to pay to advertise on Mumsnet, naturalmat1.... Not particularly ethical of you and I'm not sure this will win you many customers.

It'll be the 8/9 month regression.

There is a great book explaining it called The Wonder Weeks by two scientists who researched all the developmental spurts up to about 18 months.

They say:

"Your baby may start sleeping less well. Most babies do. She may refuse to go to bed, fall asleep less easily, and wake up sooner. Some are especially hard to get to sleep during the day. Others at night. And some stay up longer both during the day and at night."

The developmental spurt causing this happens at about 37 weeks, and there?s another one at around 46 weeks.

There?s more info here, here and here.

HTH - it will pass. :)

How about gradually cutting down night feeds eg.if your little one feeds every 4hrs during the day then do the same for night. Any wake ups in between get your dh to settle or use pupd or whatever you are happy woth. This may then encourage better milk and solids feeding during the day too....
