Help!!

What do people out there do when they know their baby needs a sleep, but their baby doesn't agree!?!

Depends on the age of the baby - if still under a year, I would still try to get them to sleep by fair means or foul (pram, car, rocking, whatever). If older than a year, maybe let them miss it and see how you go - my two both gave up daytime sleeps at 14 months and are none the worse for it.

Thanks for your thoughts vanillacandle

Little lady is 18 weeks and will cry whether i'm rocking her or leaving her in cot. Only way to be without crying is to feed to sleep - but then wakes when transferred to cot! Thankfully she is better at night.

Any further thoughts?

Try a sling? If you really want her to sleep for her sake walk around for a bit with them in a sling, then when she is asleep you can sit down too and have a rest. Or just accept she can be fed to sleep, feed her lying down in your bed, if she stays asleep when you unlatch her then you can leave her in the bed (just make sure she can't roll over and fall out!).

Thanks SachaF. Will try all of the above from you and vanillacandle. x
