For the past week they have been going to bed at about 7 and waking at 10. They do their best to stay up as long as possible, crying, screaming... chatting, laughing, playing etc..... They don't settle again until at least 1am. What's going on?

They don't need food, rarely need a nappy change.............

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at the very least come take them cos it's adoption time again!

how old are they?

my two are fifteen months apart and used to sleep together (and have almost always done so).

I've just had to separate them because they were keeping each other awake for hours. Now, blissfully, they go to bed but are annoyingly, frightened without the other one being there (ggrr).

Could you separate them temporarily to find out who the main culprit is?

MarsLady · 01/10/2005 22:30

I wish I could, but I don't have anywhere to put them separately.

She's in one cot and he's in another. Tonight it is him... but if I go in she'll be straight up.

Am trying to ignore them, but the woman next door is old and they've been waking her. She is trying not to complain!

Oh dear hun..... they being naughty little DT's..... how about putting them down a bit later?!

Im at dads tonight, and Jess didnt go down til 8.30pm, but hoping that might be her for the night.... probably not as strange cot and room etc!

MarsLady · 01/10/2005 23:03

DT2 has finally stopped crying. He's been at it an hour. The thing is that if I go in DT1 will get up. I swear she waits to see if anything is gonna happen.

I need it to stop though. Driving me barmy and not doing the old lady any good either!

Can't help as having similar non-sleeping issues with DS. Just wanted to lend moral support

DS waking screaming with terror - think he's having nightmares, poor love

MarsLady · 01/10/2005 23:13

don't know what to do hinker. I had to ignore him. He cried for about an hour. I almost feel terrible, but I need them to sleep. They had a good nap today... and I do think that sleep breeds sleep but I don't know if there is anything else that I can do.

My friend is a homeopath and she's gonna give me some treatments. So, here's hoping!

It's so hard, isn't it? I know he can sleep all night and I know he has peg-related troubles that do wake him up sometimes (he flips at his mouth with his fingers when his teeth are playing up - they're taking an age to come through!).

Would be interested to hear what homeopathic things are recommended to you!

DS wasn't just crying last night, he was genuinely scared of something - it seemed like he was still asleep as he snapped out of it like he woke up and said "Ooh!" and pointed at the lullaby light - when a second earlier he'd been screaming.

MarsLady · 01/10/2005 23:20

yeah DT2 has done that. He's such a happy chap during the day, it's so sad that his night isn't as happy.

Exactly the same with DS - weird, isn't it?

Can't believe he'll be 18mo on Monday - and on Tuesday nearer to two than one! (I have a tendency to overthink things, can you tell?!)

Did you decide where to go with your friend?

MarsLady · 01/10/2005 23:25

nope not yet!

We're gonna sit down and look for good deals online.
