So how will I get her back in her cot?!

6 month old DD2 has always slept happily in her cot. She wakes for night feeds but always went back in ok and started off the night there - awake quite often - with no problems. But she's had a very nasty cold where the only way to keep her happy and get her off to sleep was to hold her in the crook of my arm in bed with me. She's now much better but, as you can imagine, none too keen on going back in the cot!! She's not 100% yet (still coughing and snuffly) but once she is I am keen to get her back in there. I just can't be going to bed at 7/7.30 every night because she can't sleep alone (DH is up there with her right now). I should also add that we try getting her off and then putting her down in the cot but she wakes instantly.

So does anyone have any gentle solutions? I'm really not interested in CIO/CC thanks.

If she's not 100% then no wonder she's resisting. I'd keep trying TBH, and she will get used to it again. DS is like this (14 months) - he's had cold after cold for weeks and ended up in with us. In the end, I'd just keep trying to put him down (drowsy is best), on his front (easier to settle) and he'd go back in.

Did she self settle before?

I'm having exact same problem with my 5 month DD. Spent most of last night trying to put her down and eventually took her to bed (although she did go down at 7 just not after night feed). She is terribly snuffly at the mo and I'm really hoping she'll go back to how she was once she has got over the cold. I think when they're not well you just have to ride it out but try to be firm as soon as they're better so they don't get into bad habits. Funnily she went down got a 2 hour nap this afternoon but ad I also have a 3 yr old I couldn't. If you continue with problems once she is well try the no-cry sleep solution for some good ideas.
