Why won't she sleep????

I'm not looking for answers really as have posted about this before. Would prefer sympathy! I'm currently sitting up with 15mo DD, in the dark, in her room, while she alternates between sucking her thumb with wide staring eyes and babbling 'adorably' (currently signing 'sleep'). She's been awake since 9pm. It's now 12.30. If I leave her or just put her in the cot, she screams uncontrollably. We tried her in our bed (never works) and she found it highly exciting and didn't even attempt to sleep. BF hasn't sent her to sleep. Nothing I can do will get her to sleep. I don't know how she stays awake so long. And she'll be up at 6, whatever time she drops off. Oh God, she's now signing wheels on the sodding bus!

You poor thing. Sounds like she's got you right where she wants you!

Yes, she has! That's why I don't want advice. I know it's my fault. Thanks for the sympathy!

Been there, done that etc

You have to be strong!!

Amazing how they manage it isn't it? Does she sleep a lot during the day? Some babies just don't seem to need it.

Although slowly but surely, my DS at 22m has sorted out his sleeping habits (or rather I have)

YOu have my sympathy, for the last week 4mo DD has refused to go to sleep before nowish - tonight she went down at 9:30 and has been asleep since, but can I get to sleep - can I hell as like!!

Hope you get some sleep soon

Thanks. It's really annoying when they do sleep and you can't, isn't it? She sleeps okay, though unpredictably, in the day. A couple of hours over two naps today.
Right now she's doing pretend crying. I want to go to bed.

Well, it was 1.45 when she fell asleep, then woke again at 5. Now can't get her to stay asleep.
