ello..my six week old is dozing off between 9 and 10.30 pm..waking for a feed at midnight ish (or i wake him if he doesnt manage himself)..then he usually wakes between 2.30am and 4am (dpending on last night feed) and then gain 5-6am..sometimes we lie in until 8.30am, or he lies in bed with me gurgling away until I can muster enough energy to climb out of my slimber. Ideally it would be good to get him to go through from 11.30pm until 6am..am I dreaming? I'm just not sure what to expect at this stage, and what i should be doing to encourage him eventually sleeping through. Am I supposed to set a bedtime..like 7pm? millions of questions..so little time!

I wouldn't expect too much at 6 weeks - they really need to develop and their tummies be able to take and digest the milk at the right rate. In our case it got better after around 4 months and at 5 months he sleeps through 3/4 nights and that is about 8pm - 6.30/7am which is good enough for me. Of course teething kicks in at 6 months and you can be back to square 1 pretty quickly!!

Oh the joys of parenthood - sleep is overrated!
