Tips on coping with the hour going back this weekend?

Do you remember how Before Children it always used to be the other way round - you used to look forward to the autumn change of hour because you got an extra hour in bed? And now it's the reverse, because if your baby wakes up at 6.30 normally (my DS often does) after the hour change they're going to be waking up at 5.30 . Anyone got any ideas for making the whole thing easier?

Are you in England? Clocks don't go back here until October 30!

wordgirl · 21/09/2005 14:41

That should be UK, sorry Scotland, Wales et al

Mum2girls · 21/09/2005 14:41

Oh dear - assumed it would be this weekend because it's the equinox today! Sorry! Still - good to get a head start on some ideas, with any luck!

doesnt make any diferenec at all ime

it sorts itself out if you keep them up an hour later (ie normal time of 8pm or whatever, which means they have been up 1 hr longer, as it would have been 9pm the day before)

(that made sense i hope)

I used to do over several days leading up to it - start putting them to bed a bit later (15 mins say) each night. I had some horrendouns times when mine were in the 5.30am wake up time which then became 4.30am of course - for about a week!! It is a complete nightmare with kids!

Excellent! We have been invited to a neighbours party and wanted to take DS just to be socialable...now it may just kill two birds....

Er, excuse me - I've just checked. They don't go back this weekend. Next month.
