Sleeping on stomach

Hi all, my 7mo very active DD has started rolling onto her stomach to settle herself for bed and tbh it makes me a little nervous. I've tried rolling her back onto her back, but she immediately rolls back onto her stomach!! Has anyone else had to deal with this?? Is it safe for her to sleep on her stomach at this age?? Help please. Ta muchly

Mine did the same from 4 months. I believe if they can roll over themselves, they can move themselves if they become uncomfortable or get into difficulty. I think it is fine Smile but check it out with HV or authority. FSIDs website is down at the moment but that should be able to reassure you.

My DD has done the same since she turned 7m. SHe is obviously more comfy that way and she (mostly) sleeps better like that too.

I was always led to believe it is OK once they can roll themselves back and forth, and tbh it's nigh on impossible to continually get them onto their backs anyway.

Just ensure her room isn't too warm her and nightclothes are not going to allow her to overheat and she will be fine Smile

I know how you feel and I remember feeling the same. I used to roll her back when I saw her and researched ways to stop it but.....you can't. She sleeps in all sorts of positions but trust me, you get used to it.

DS has slept on his tummy from around 4 months. I usually put him down on his back and guaranteed he'll roll onto his tummy after a short time. Try not to worry about it - I'm sure your DD will be fine.

My boy always sleeps on his tummy, always always rolls himself over and he's now one big strapping toddler.

You could buy one of those mats to lie under her to sense her breathing etc if you're especially worried? But once they're rolling and moving they sleep in any which way position and there's not a lot you can do about I found Hmm
