a question about night feeds...

DD's sleep is getting progressively worse, she used to sleep solidly from 9-5 between 2 and 4 months, but now she is 7mo and is waking every 3 hours again She was EBF to 6m and now we are BLW and she has one FF at lunchtime (as it is nigh on impossible to feed her when out and about as she is too distracted).

I just don't know what to do as I am at the end of my tether. I have been feeding her every time she wakes (path of least resistance) but now I am wondering if it has become a habit that I need to break...?

I am BF on demand still, so she hasn't dropped any daytime feeds as yet. We even tried a FF top-up last night, but it didn't make a jot of difference, which is why I am wondering if it is a habit/comfort thing.

Please help. DO I try and wean her off some of these feeds and if so, how????

I have also posted in the feeding thread.
Thanks in advance!

I feel for you. You must be very tired. Especially not knowing if she is waking hungry or for comfort. Is she just comfort feeding back to sleep at night and not taking much? If that is the case it might be that she is trying to soothe back to sleep I guess. That leaves the question whether she can self soothe or not as she might be depending on you to get her back to sleep.(dare I say I had to go down the root of cc for mine....not looked back since)

If she is hungry then she wouldn't let you drop the night feeds....HOw is BLW going? Is she eating enough during the day. It is always hard to tell. You could step off the path of BLW and give her a bowl of puree that has protein and carbs in it in the evening so it would fill her tummy before sleep...maybe even porridge(a good "sleep through" trick)...you need your sleep too.

NOt sure if any of this is useful. Just wanted to reply...Hope someone comes along with more help who knows more about BLW than me....best of luck
