Hope this is the right place to ask this, can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere.

What are your babies wearing at this time of year?

Our house is quite warm, good double glazing etc.

I have 8 month old twins (prem, so still tiny at 13lb and 16lbs.) They are sharing a cot, so I suppose there is some body warmth going on. They are in sleepsuits and quite light grobags.

Recently they are waking quite a lot in the early hours, I'm not feeding them, just getting them back to sleep with dummies etc but they can be quite restless. I'm pretty sure they don't need a feed, they feed at 7pm, midnightish then can go to 7am.

Have just done their midnight feed and they both feel quite hot, so I've taken them out of their grobags, and we'll see what happens tonight.

Just wondering what others are wearing?

Ok, so they aren't hot. Spent the night in just sleepsuits and still woke several times early morning.

Any ideas? Should I start giving them a 3am ish feed again. They were going from midnight until 7 so I'm not sure why we're having this backwards step. Or shall we just keep sticking dummies back in and soothing and hope it passes?

Could they be waking each other up if they are sharing a bed and are getting a bit more active now?

Don't ask what mine is wearing (10mo DS), he needs to be warm and toasty to sleep well and his room is like the arctic, so he wears a long sleeved vest, sleepsuit and a 2.5tog sleeping bag Shock

life of kate my ds wears that too and i chuck cellular blanket over him too in the early hours. my room is anything between 16 and 18 degrees celsius.
Zuzu i would agree they might be waking each other moving around in their sleep could have them in 2 cots side by side so they are still close but have more room?

Thanks for answers.

I have seen one baby screaming while the other sleeps soundly a few inches away so am pretty sure they aren't waking eachother, and when they wake in the night it only seems to be one at a time. They stagger their wakings which is nice for me and DH! They also have a rolled up towel between them at night so don't think they are hitting eachother awake.

I don't want to split them yet Sad

However, A suddenly sprouted 2 teeth yesterday [proud Smile] which is probably more the cause!

Yes, probably not waking each other up then, they're probably so used to being close to the other one that they can sleep through the other ones wakenings :)

Teeth could definitely be a cause! well done A!

raindroprhyme · 14/10/2010 20:41

Thre is your culprit teeth. i would keep them together as long as posssible too.

Thanks again. Ridiculous how proud you can be over a couple of teeth!
Next question....how do you prise open an 8 month old babies mouth so you can put some sort of teething pain relief in there...?! She won't let me even look at her new gnashers unless she's laughing! Little monkey!
