About 2months ago I slowly cut down two day feeds because i was going back to work for 2 days a week. I Replaced with a snack and formula in a cup (i waited too long to introduce a bottle and now he won't take one at all)At first he was doing ok but now he takes very little formula and minimal water during the day and then is up all night feeding to make up for it. This has been worsened by a bout of tonsilitus and now he is waking every 2 hours to feed. We are all really struggling now and don't know what to do. I've tried adding formula to his food and giving him yoghurts etc to up his milk intake during the day but it seems to have no impact. He feeds all night and then is understandably not fussed during the day. However, I feel bad limiting his night intake when he has little during the day- a vicious cycle! I don't want to bf anymore but don't know how to stop! Would really appreciate some advice.

DD at 13m still bf mainly at night cosleeping, i just refused to feed her at 13m at night and offered water and a cuddle, yes she was angry, soon got hang of it, now she takes more milk and food in day
assuming your DB is a good weight could u - feed first half night 2 nights, then stop after that
i was not comfortable limiting my DD before 12m but thats just personal and perhaps abitrary! she has quite a lot understanding now so i felt better about it

Can you slowly reduce the night feeds by getting DH to resettle if he wakes after two hours to stretch him out to three then four hours etc and feeding for a slightly shorter period of time?

Also as you're back at work, the feeding could be because of the attention, not just comfort. How is he settling in the day with new childcare?

Also two feeds a day doesn't sound like much to me - only because my DS (who is a big boy!) is still on 3/4 feeds a day at nearly 1 - he was on 5 at 9 months as his solid intake was so variable. For example, when teething, he wont eat much.
