Help - I have nightmares every night

I've always been a restless sleeper. I need 8-10 hours sleep a night, have no problem going to sleep but often have nightmares/sleeptalk/sleepwalk.

My average is one nightmare a week. For the past 4 weeks I've had 2-3 nightmares a night and I can't stand it.

I was on holiday in America for the first 3 weeks so I thought it was jetlag, but it's continued since I came back. Last night I fell asleep and within 45 minutes I'd spoken 3 separate times to DH, even stretching across him to show him something.

I then woke up twice more with nightmares (most common theme is claustrophobia related).

I do quite a lot of sport (gym 2-3 times a week + karate 2-3 times a week) so am physically tired when I go to sleep, plus my job is pretty mentally exerting so am mentally tired.

But obviously during the holidays we were relaxing so I can't explain the bad sleep.

I don't have DC yet and am not pregnant. I just want to sleep through the night!

Any ideas? I don't like tea and don't have a bath so can't relax that way. I don't have any problems going to sleep (even after the nightmares).

Look at what you are eating? I find Apples at night give me vivid dreams. Maybe keep a food diary.
Lavender oil?
Try Nytol or the herbal version for a bit (helped with DHs jetlag).
