feeding to sleep....then won't stay asleep

DC2 is 10 days old. Feeds constantly, which I'm fine with but I know lots of the time she's not eating, just using the comfort to fall asleep. Again, I don't have a problem with that but as soon as I put her down in rocky chair/bean bag so I can deal with DC1 she wakes up screaming so I have to feed her back to sleep (have tried dummy but doesn't seem to work).

I can put her in the sling and she sometimes falls asleep but other times just screams even louder. Also I had a c section so can't really carry her for ages.

I know I went through a similar phase with DS but just can't remember how I dealt with it/stopped the cycle.

Can someone remind me or offer a suggestion?

Do you think she could have any pain as a result of the section. Does she settle well and sleep comfortably on back through night?

Other than that will she fall asleep independently when in car or buggy? I had to go out for 2 walks a day to get my DC to sleep cos my DC1 is so bloomin loud and kept waking her up.

I think if you feed to sleep, you have to wait until they are in a deep sleep before you can put them down without waking them.

Thanks for the responses.

bumbums, never really thought about that - no she doesn't sleep well on her back in the night. I have to lie her on her side so she can feed to sleep (I can't even feed her to sleep then put her down at night, she sleeps in bed with me as she won't settle in moses basket). She's ok on her back in the buggy but will only sleep if we are walking along a noisy road, not in a quiet place like a park. God, writing this down it makes it seem even worse than I actually thought it was!

Crikey, you're right. If I hold her for about 20mins then put her down, she can sleep for a while but I don't always have that option because if DS needs me I have to get up and go there and then and then the screaming starts....and doesn't stop...

I'm fairly chilled about it as experience has taught me that phases come and go and I'm sure as DD gets older she will be easier, but it's nice to hear what people think so I appreciate the suggestions.

We have a good cranial osteo near us so make pay her a visit as a result of your thought bumbum

You're right lovelymama- she's so little still, it's good that you're relaxed about it all.

I visited a cranial osteo with my DS and it did seem to callm him down.
