Hi
I keep hearing this term and not sure what it is. Might it explain why my nearly 6 month old is suddenly waking up every 2-3 hrs in the night having previously only woken once or twice for a feed. I can't see any signs of teeth yet so not sure it's that. Also have tried giving him calpol and makes no difference.
Have been weaning him for about 4 weeks now and he has 3 small meals / day of puree and all seems to be going well there.
He drinks 7 oz formula before bed and another 6-7 oz sometime in the night. If I try and feed again when he wakes later in night he's not really interested so he isn't hungry.
He has started to roll over and likes to sleep on his front so wonder if he is rolling onto his back and waking.

Anyway - even though it obviously could be any of the above, I wondered what this term sleep regression means and if it might explain things.

Thanks

Here are a couple of good links: What are sleep regressions anyway? from the AskMoxie blog and Sleep setbacks (scroll to the bottom of the page and work upwards for this one) from the Child of Mind blog.

Sometimes it happens at random times when they're working on a new skill.
