White noise

Random thought - does white noise work so well because it sounds like someone saying 'shhhhhhhh'? ie we instinctively generate our own white noise when trying to settle a LO? Emphasis is on trying in this household.

So sorry, up every hour through the night with a teething DS so thoughts all a bit random at the moment.

lol! probably something like that. I read this article on white noise though and how it can sometimes be bad for babies...

Poor you, up all night with teething. I know how it feels hon. :(

Our little one sleeps with white noise during naps and at night. She was a terrible sleeper and it really helped her relax and stopped her waking at the slightest noise.

We downloaded trackes for the i-pod and have some portable speakers in her room.

She's 9 months now though and we have been thinking about stopping it. And now I'm more concerned about it having read that article! Confused. Can it really effect development?!

The problem is being brave enough to try it one night when we are so enjoying her sleeping through!!
