Comforter- something to hang on to

Ok bear with my silly question here:

My ds,7 wks in order to get to sleep he likes to hold things.
In the womb he hung on to the cord a lot and I can only assume this need has come out with him as it were.
We have tried, muslins and toy with blanket type thing attached to no avail.
His favourites are
My hair- tugging hurts.
Clothes
My nipples if im braless-ouch.

I was wondering about a taggie? Ribbony bits to hold on to, he might like I thought?
Does your child have one and do they like/use them?
The reason I ask is, they are pricey so I'm not sure if its worth trying.
I would like him to have a comforter and they arent too ghastly imo.
Any advice would be great.
TIA

This might be no help but maybe he likes feeling resistance when he pulls at things (eg your hair!)? Maybe try tying a muslin to the side of the cot so he can hold it and pull it but it won't wave around.

This has been a godsend for us:

comforter

Also it migth be about the smell of you. Maybe try getting the smell of you on the muslin?

My daughter developed a thing for pure cotton bibs with a popper (type sold in M&S). I cannot remember when it started, but you could try what Mull suggested but maybe with a bib instead? This would have similar resistance properties, but possibly better size for a baby of this size, and less risk of getting baby's face covered?

The other great thing about this is that provided you get very plain packs (mine loves one with gold spots that is not made anymore), you may avert future lost cuddly disasters as it would be easily replaceable.

Hope this helps

Thank you all, am going to try a bib or muslin after I've wandered about all day with it attached to me- to get my smell.

bighippy- how clever is that! Will look inyo buying one of those.

Thanks for all your relies

Lola :)

Muslin tied to cot has worked wonders as a comfort for our DS1 and now DS3 (DS2 didn't need anything as he was a dream baby who just slept). Hope it works :)
