What happened to the snugglenest?

Am planning to co sleep with dc2 but am paranoid about squashing him. I'd really like something like the snuggle nest to keep him protected but I can't find it anywhere - I guess it must have been discontinued. Anyone know where I can get one from (or something similar )?

Get a sidecar cot. You both have safe sleeping spaces, but are only an arms reach away for comfort or feeding. Turns into an actual cot for later. I couldn't have functioned without mine.

Not sure who makes them now, I have the M&P Close and Cosy one.

You can buy the snugglenest on amazon, I think. But I agree with Lionstar - a co-sleeper cot is much better and more versatile. The snugglenest looks really difficult to feed in, whereas a sidecar cot just acts as a bed guard, and is a safe space you can scoot them over to before you fall asleep completely if you are worried.

And TBH, the snugglenest doesn't look like that much protection to me - surely if you think a little piece of foam/cardboard is going to wake you up, rolling on the baby in the first place would?

Any cotbed is easy to convert to a sidecar cot, also any of the ikea cots apart from the very cheapest one. (They take standard cot mattresses) :) - You don't need to fork out for an expensive purpose built one (although they are slightly easier).

you can't get it on amazon - apparently there is some foam that is not EU approved, so when you click to add it to basket, it says this product is not available in your country. I got mine on ebay.

you can still get them.

Had one for ds and bought one last year for dd (9 months).

They are lovely and sturdy, used dd's in my bed and also in her cot bed too, with the side next to the bed removed, until she was rolling, instead of moses basket. She was then used to her cot when it was removed.

I like it as it stopped me worrying about her overheating. And they are a great deal lessmoney than a side cot

tk max sell them occasionally for £15.00

Am really sorry, but I had one for DS1 and it was horrid, like putting your baby to sleep in an inbox on your desk at work. It is literally a tray with very little padding. Also, if you have a pillow-top mattress, the tray will still tilt toward you when your body weight depresses the surface, and the baby will roll or slide -- waking him/her. Had an Arm's Reach co-sleeper bassinet and, while not as comfy as I would have liked, it was worlds better.
