Mindee 2 (age 11 months) will not sleep during the day at all. Well he will sleep for aprox 4 mintues in the morning, and approx 4 mintues in teh afternoon. To get him to do that I need to stand and push the buggy like a mad woman for anything up to an hour. or we go for a walk. We wlaked 3 miles yesterday to school and back and he fell asleep just outside the gates to the place I live. I got him home, wheeled buggy into garden, opened door and he woke up.

Now he comes to me anytime from 7am onwards, but he wakens every single morning at 5am with a pooy nappy. So he is very tired. Because he's tired he's clingy and irritable, he will not let me put him down at all. He screams the palce down if I event ry to sit him ont eh floor. He won't eat unless he's on my knee.
now this is having a detrimental efect on his older brother who I also CM, as I cannot do much with him due to his brother screaming, and it is scremaing, full on make yourself sick scremaing, not even crying.

So, could anyone with any help or suggestions please let me have them.

Could you make the buggy more comfortable for him? Could you keep walking for an extra 5 minutes after he falls asleep, so that he is in a deep sleep when you walk in your gate, then park in the quietest corner of the garden?

Had to do those things with DC4, he wouldn't sleep anywhere but in buggy!

How long have you been minding him, he may settle better as he gets to know you?

Could you try using a backpack / baby carrier? Some babies find it easier to sleep in one of those than a pram or any other means.

I presume he doesn't nap when he's with his parents, as he sounds horribly overtired.

Is it worth trying for a nap really early in the day? A lot of babies between the ages of 6 and 18 months have their first nap 2 hours after waking.

And I know this is beyond your control, but it sounds like he'd benefit from going to bed earlier as it might help him to be less overtired. Could you suggest it to his parents?

I am wondering if he's hungry. I know it sounds ridiculous but he has got a (IMO anyway)huge appetite and would eat all the time. For lunch (11.30-12) he gets for example today) had 1/2 tin of beans 9yes don't worry low fat, low sugar etc) 2 slices of cheese on toast, a fromage frais and a mashed banana. Which i eprsonally think is a lot for a child udner 1 to eat, but then it is a long while since I've had children of this age.
So I am wondering if I should maybe give hima mashed up banana or a couple of fromage frais about 15 mintues before trying to get him down for nap. Also he wakens when he poos, whcih is currently at every nappy change - don't know what's going on there

Also he has been going to bed and asleep by no alter than 7.15, His aprents say he is really grumpy and irritable by 6pm, which is due to his non sleeping. From what they say though he sleeps well at night until pooey nappy time at 5am. This has been going on every morning for about 2 months

At 11 months you should be able to tell :).
Good luck.
