newborn only sleeps well in elevated position - possible reflux?

Since being born my dd of a week is very snuffly and choking when I try to put her to sleep flat on her back. We noticed that it only happens at night since during the day we either hold her or she's in a reclining chair that elevates at the head end. She was cleared of mucus stuff in hospital with some ng tubes, as she was c section and very snuffly. She's alot better now, but as soon as we put her flat on the floor or in the cot, she's not happy, and often is a little sick.
It's not easy to elevate the cot as I have a bedside one, has anyone used one of those wedge style pillows with success? I'm hoping it will clear in the next few days, but if not, any advice as to how to resolve it for her would be great, either any products or the right stuff to ask the doctor to get them to do something would help!
Thanks in advance, going out for a bit now.

My DD was like this plus some rather spectacular projectile puking. In the end we had her sleep elevated all the time for the first 3-4 weeks, either in her reclining chair or in her cot with a blanket under one end of the mattress. Now at 7 weeks she is sleeping flat in her cot with no problems, so it something which might not last forever.

Glad it might not be forever.I feel bad about sticking her in the chair when we're not holding her and not being able to have a wriggle on the floor, but I'm sure she won't remember and hold it against me!

We used a wedgie thing in the cot and worked.
DS does have reflux and had constant sniffles and would never settle flat in his cot or moses basket for more than 45 mins. He'd also be a little sick too.

Watch how she is feeding - if she starts to arch or look uncomfy, could be reflux. Also does she get a lot of wind, especially at night?

Igglybuff is spot on with the signs of reflux. My neice has it and those were the signs of it, especially the arching of the back when feeding. You may find there is no projectile vomitting as that would be silent reflux. You'll know there is something wrong if feeding is like this at the majority of feeds.
You can elevate the cot using books under one end of the cot legs and/or the wedge pillows with the side posistioners also.
If you think it is reflux this is often mis diagonsed as colic so be sure to insist on a pH test on LO. Not nice but only way to know for sure and then the correct medication could be prescribed.

Thanks for those tips, she feeds quite well, but sometimes lately sicks some back as soon as she comes off. She is invariably a bit sick within five minutes of being put flat as well. Thanks for saying about the ph test, I didn't know about that. I'm going to buy a wedge and hope she won't need it for long. None of the midwives I've seen seem that bothered about it, at least I know being flat is causing her discomfort, but if it is reflux I'd like to get it sorted out.
