i know i am very lucky in the fact that when my dd is well she sleeps from 6.30 - 7ish through till around 5.30am has 2 oz and then goes straight down till 7.30 when i normally wake her.

she is 16 weeks.

she has been doing this from 6 weeks and before that only ever woke at around 2ish and dropped that feed herself.

(this goes haywire when she has her jabs as make her extremly ill but has her last set this morning till she is 13 months)

i have now got vey used to having a lovely amount of sleep, she sleeps for 40- 60 mins in the morning 1.5 hours at lunch and 20-30 mins nap in the afternoon.

if children are natuarlly this good at sleeping at this age will she stay this good as she passes into toddlerhood etc?

i would like to take the credt but it is due to the fact that she adores her sleep!!! she is very large and already weighs and measures the length of the average 9 month.

also we are just starting looking to move house, she has slept at her grandparents house and found it hard to settle there so is there any advice for making the move any better for her?

she has been in her own room since 6 weeks.
mainly because she outgrew the moses basket by then!

im just worried i could lose my happy sleepy baby!

does anyone have experience of good sleepers going bad?

no experience of "good sleepers going bad" as such - mine has always been a pretty hit and miss sleeper anyway.....

BUT

They change so much as they become toddlers, just starting on solids can mess up their sleeping pattern, so unfortunately I don't think you've got any guarantee of keeping your sleepy baby

With moving though... Make sure her room is all set up asap, and try to keep her original routine on track. We moved when DD was 1, and she didn't bat an eyelid! Slept through the entire night the first night we were there, and woke later than normal!!!

Both DSs were good sleepers as babies and this has continued through toddlerhood and now they're 4 and 6.

I would not expect the move to unsettle her since I assume she will have the same cot, bedding and furniture as now.

There, however, no guarantees!

I dearly hope this continues for you amyjo...but brace yourself for the period of teething......

My DD2 was a fab sleeper as a baby, but has woken in the night (about 4 out of 7) ever since she was about 14 months. Obviously this madness won't necessarily repeat itself with you, but my advice is just enjoy it while you can!

Sorry, but you did ask

damn i knew it was too good to be true.!!!

thanks for the advice for moving. luckily as we are moving out of rented into our own we are planning on running with 2 houses to get the painting etc done in her room and let it breath before we move her.

so maybe we will just shift her stuff on mass one day and get her settled first. lest distruptive i suppose.

thanks again.
