A couple of weeks ago I posted about rocking my DD to sleep and how I couldn't see a time when she's just lie down and go to sleep...

Well, it's happened! For the last week she's played in her cot for a bit, offered her dummy to her teddies (so cute), woofed at the dog on her blanket and then gone to sleep. No tears whatsoever.

I didn't do anything except put her down awake and tell her it was bedtime!

So for all who are struggling - It may have taken 14 months but she was obviously just ready.

She's also slept through every night too

(I know this will probably just be a phase like everything else and we'll probably be back to rocking her to sleep and getting up in the night again by next week but I'm going to revel in it while it lasts!)

Wow ....same here!

DS also 14 months and have been rocking to sleep since birth. Finally had to give up as my back couldnt take it anymore. We decided we were going to persevere with putting him down awake and not give in this time.

For the first 2 days he cried for 20 mins (we went into his room every 5 mins and stroked his back and laid him back down again) but now, a week later, he maybe grumps for less than 5 mins before going to sleep.

It really has made a massive difference to daytime naps which were such a battle and so exhausting for both of us. He even self settled during the night last night without us going into his room at all.

Now all we need to do is try and tackle the 4.30 - 5am wake ups !!!
