Before DD, DP and I were what you might call night owls, generally going to bed around midnight on school nights and much later at weekends. We used to lie in til late and take naps after work (ahhh, twas bliss).
Anyway, now she's here - things haven't changed much and I'm a bit concerned about it. DD has always been a great sleeper, never a bit of bother to get to sleep, went in her own room at 10 weeks, gets put down awake, generally has at least 12 hours uninterrupted sleep every night and 4 or 5 good naps in the day.
Until recently, we were taking her out and about with us on summer evenings, making sure she was washed and in bed clothes by 8ish and then straight into bed from carseat, usually fast asleep.
She is now 5mo, and at the moment, she sleeps from around 9pm (sometimes 9.30pm) til 9am, sometimes 10am. I'm happy with this as have no other children, no need to get up early, and I'm not back at work until she will be 11 months (January). If she's asleep by 9 like usual, DP and I have a couple of hours to spend quality time together.
But - here's my worry: am I keeping her up too late? Should she be going down earlier to get into a good habit? Am I making the proverbial rod for my back?
I used to live in southern France where it was usual to have young children out til late on warm summer evenings, and I don't see a problem with it - should I be worried?
