desperatly seeking sleep

my 6 month old son is breastfed n relies on that to go to sleep, which takes 2n half hrs at bedtime n then he wakes roughly every 2 hrs after that. thinkin of trying controlled crying but unsure. can anyone help. please.

How do you feel about it? I breastfed DS to sleep too and he used to wake a lot in the night. I decided just to go with it. He goes to sleep on his own now, wakes up less overnight and occasionlly even sleeps through! I found co-sleeping helped.

well lizum i wouldnt mind so much if it didnt take so long n wasnt so often, i no he is needin to sooth on me. he starts the night in his cot but we co sleep from a bout 1am n then he jus has constant access to me.ive tried puttin him down sleepy but he jus ends up screaming and i feed him to sleep. also my husabnd would like to be able to take him to bed. thanks

hello i didnt feel comfortable doing sleep training till my dd was 11m, but i guess its a personal choice, she still feeds frequent overnight btw at 13m. 2.5h to go to sleep at night sounds a long time, are you following a fixed bedtime routine so he knows what to expect?
