Help! Where can I buy snowboots?

Everywhere appears to have sold out, due to the pesky snow we've had recently. Even the ski/mountain shops don't have any and "won't be getting any more in" either. WTF? It's JANUARY! It's a SKI SHOP!!! WHY would they not be getting any more in?

DS has wrecked the inner linings on his current pair and we go off to France in 3 weeks. Don't really want to spend a bomb in the shops in the resort, although is looking like I may have to.

Any ideas? He's a size 4-ish.

next do some here - you may be able to order them

tulpe · 24/01/2010 12:57

Try TK Maxx. They usually have a good range available. They do sell ski stuff online but unfortunately not the boots.

I was going to suggest Muddy Puddles but unfortunately they are sold out in all but pink However, this type of boot will cost you the same in resort as you would pay here.

BigTillyMint · 24/01/2010 13:01

They usually sell them in the supermarkets in France.

Francagoestohollywood · 24/01/2010 13:01

Have you tried Decathlon? Their snowboots are excellent.

clam · 24/01/2010 13:29

Thanks all.
But Next are saying 2-4 weeks delivery, and not sure about the sizing, decathlon doesn't do them, Muddy Puddles - thought pink would do for DD but only one size left and it's not hers.
French supermarket might be the thing - bit nervous about waiting til then though in case doesn't work out.
TKMaxx no boots at all locally, or on line!
Millets, no.
Tchibo - closed down.
Snow & Rock, depends on sizing (need to drag them in there) but £40!!
GAAAAHHHHH!!

try here?

grenadine · 24/01/2010 15:53

I'd try Ebay. I have a pair listed - although the ones I've listed are girls size 8 so not what you are looking for.

Seriously though I think it might be a good bet as chances are most boots listed will only have a couple of weeks wear as children's feet grow so fast that the boots will only be worn for one or two skiing hols before being outgrown.

BaconWheatCrunchies · 24/01/2010 19:20

I've just ordered some silver ones (was a bit desperate too!) with ski service.

orienteerer · 24/01/2010 20:12

Bit of a long shot at this stage but don't forget Aldi/Lidl, may have some left in the discount bin.

orienteerer · 24/01/2010 20:16

To be honest you get better value out of buying a pair of gortex style walking boots www.amazon.co.uk/Regatta-Foot-Childrens-Walking-Boots/dp/B002C68TNU

Chamomile · 24/01/2010 20:21

I've just bought these from Landsend
snow flurry boots

clam · 24/01/2010 20:25

Good old mumsnet. Knew I could rely on you lot for help. Thanks.

Little Trekkers.

pisteagain · 26/01/2010 18:31

www.raindrops.co.uk have some as well

alarkaspree · 26/01/2010 18:38

Landsend also have ones www.landsend.co.uk/pp/Squall-Boots~7061_1055.html?bcc=y&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008__0000000361&origin =index in the sale - dd has these and ds has the snow flurry that Chamomile linked to, I find these are easier for them to manage.

alarkaspree · 26/01/2010 18:40

Sorry. these.

MrLSG · 28/01/2010 12:27

Quite a few still in our local Lidl yesterday - size 5 and 6 IIRC.

usplus3 · 28/01/2010 22:16

We managed to get some from Trespass on line. Only £17 and perfectly good - don't know whether stocks are still good tho - that was couple weeks ago.
