what day are you travelling down? i would have thought a frozen turkey would be ok if you get there 1-2 days before cooking/eating, but not safe much after that.
possibly consider 'alternative christmas meal' of spag bol?
i know in switzerland has been great, not certain of morzine.

Here you go for snow report.

No idea about the turkey question though. TBH, I don't think it would be worth the risk. Would be dire if you all come down with food poisoning in a self-catering ski chalet.

We are heading that way ourselves (altho lower alp - Thollon Les Mesmises - FiL lives there) and I have been wondering what on earth Christmas lunch is going to look like this year as I am fairly certain that:

a) Kelly Bronze do not deliver to France; and
b) the local Cora supermarket is probably not awash with turkeys at this time of year!

We will probably end up with steak or roast beef with most of the usual trimmings

if you like duck I would really recommend Confit de Canard which comes in tins of 2 or 4 pieces and you should be able to find in any supermarket in Morzine. It's very tasty and dead easy to cook.
