Anyone stayed at Le Cachette hotel in Les Arcs?

Just looking at booking with them on the advice that Les Arcs is a good option for a family of beginners?? Three boys ages 9, 7, and 4
Our guidelines are as follows !...perhaps all you fab mumsnetters may have other ideas.
Def a French or Austrian Resort? Ski in or out and minimal walking to ski school. Good ski lessons for kids with child care option for little one aged 4..snowpark?
Resort with ice skating etc, bowling...kids may be exhausted to ski contantly.
Family resort. La Ros, les Arcs?
Not entirely sure of big chalet or chalet hotel...just anything that works. Have realised there are so many factors to consider and anxious that I don't put my family or myself off skiing for life!! I know there will be so many different options but I will enjoy any answers and will be very grateful!

Don't know about Les Arcs, sorry, but can recommend La Ros with Esprit for your group. Ticks all the boxes and also has Sunday transers from Chambery, so less hassle.

we stayed severl years ago in the Ferme d'Elisa - there are several 'chalets' within it on different levels - ski-in, ski out, kids club within the chalet complex - minimal hassle!

Just to clarify one point - by snowpark, are we talking about a 'snow garden' where small children can build snowmen
or 'the park' as in the place where people with adeathwish no fear jump off very high lumps of snow?
just have an excellent image in my head of small child saying 'and look what i jumped off today mummy' (although i suspect that is actually quite common)

Any thoughts on La Cachette? Or La Ros with Esprit. Nearly at booking stage then received Family Ski company info..ploughing through that now! Also trying to find the Ferme d'Elisa chalet through Esprit. NO chalet hotels in Les Arcs?? Questions questions...?!

we are taking our first child ski holiday this year too, and are going with snowbizz - cheap, small and i like the self-catering option. la rosiere has a lot of drag lifts (so rubbish for snowboarders),and lots of people reccommend it but i don't know much else. TBH i don't much fancy the chalet holidays because i want to eat with my kids, and i am often tucked up in bed by 9pm (to hit the slopes early maan)and the chalets don't seem to accommodate that too well. I think chalets vary with the staff in them.

also ski-in ski-out works well if you can ski, but check what you have to ski down to get to the chalet!

ooh also if you want to try skiing you can go to a slope in the uk - indoor or dry to try it out first. i am doing that so my dd doesn't collapse with exhaustion on day 2!

Greygirl. Thanks.. that's all great. I have never hads skis on in my life so yes..good idea to go to indoor slope and have a few go's first. Also, good point re the chalet. I guess we will all be exhausted trying to learn to ski and probably won't be up to much socialising!! Will have a look at snowbizz. thanks. any other tips and hints keep them coming!
