My sister has decided to take dd,5, and her cousin,10, skiing at half term and as none of them have been before will need lessons. Has anyone taken any that they can recommend.
We were thinking about the Lecht or Cairngorm but if anyone has any recommndations I'd love to hear them.

I can't answer through experience but a friend's children all learned at the Lecht and she was very happy with it. Not keen on Cairngorm tbh as easier slopes are at the top of the mountain. Glencoe nursery slopes are menat to be good too, as to be honest are Nevis Range. Much depends on which resort is best for that day - wind and snow cover wise.
They could do lessons at a dry slope - Hillend Edinburgh, Polmont or Braehead Galsgow - or small dryslope just before you get to Cairngorm got my dd started.
Hope that helps.

Ds3 had snowboarding lessons at Xscape Braehead last year, and loved them. The staff seemed really good, and his class came on well in the 4 lessons they had.

Plus you can watch from the balcony at the SnoBar and there's some nice places for a snack afterwards if you need one. And the parking's good.

Thanks for those. Hadn't thought about the dry slopes and forgot about braehead might look into them more before we go.
Dh is going to and he thought the Lecht would be best although I do think he just wants a go on the rubber rings also his mum lives near by and we could stay there which would be easier if the snow wasn't good that weekend.

The Lecht has the best nursery slopes I think but it is limited skiing for those who can ski.

Cairngorms is the best all round resort but its cold at the top and can be up in the clouds.

Glen Coe is a bit basic but is usually quiet.

Glen shee is my favourite but that probably because I learnt to ski there and at Polmont ski slope

Just remember I think its colder in Scotland than in Europe so wrap up warm!
