Snow Club with Esprit - can you book day by day in resort?

I know Esprit say to book childcare in advance but am in two minds about snowclub.

DD1 is 8 and has done Beginners and Improvers (as well as two yrs of Spritelets!) - she will be an Intermediate this yr and we are planning on picking her up after lunch to ski with us which I know will be fine.

DS1 is just 6 - he was a Spritelet when just 3 and just 4 (we didn't go last yr) so he will be in Beginners. I was thinking we would put him in Snow Club and then possibly pick him up after lunch for a couple of days towards the end of the week (as we did with DD1 who was 5.5 when she was a Beginner). However he may not be amused to be doing Snow Club when his sister is being picked up after lunch plus he may well be able to come out with us anyway almost straight away.

Does anyone know if you can book Snow Club day by day in resort - it's £181 to book for a week.

The reason they say to book in advance is because they cannot guarantee that there will be sufficient staff to cover adult-child ratios. Thinking about worst-case scenario - i.e. no places available - would you be happy to have both DCs with you every afternoon? Is DD going to go to Snow Club at all or just DS?

Also, I wonder if going outside of school hols makes a difference to availability? Could you perhaps call the week before and ask what numbers they have pre-booked for Snow Club?

Both my DCs (4 and 8) are in beginners this year and whilst we will take them out some afternoons, we decided we were prepared to pay for Snow Club as a back up - just in case they wanted to play with their new found friends or we wanted to ski alone (different for us as I am in lessons all morning whilst DH goes off piste so we don't see each other either). DS2 didn't mind at all last year when DS1 came out with us in the afternoons - but he has always been happy to go along to those kinds of things and had more friends his own age in Snow Club than eldest DS.

DD1 won't be going to Snow Club - the last time we went skiing was two yrs ago in St Anton where she had to do a full day skiing as she was an improver. I thought that was a bit much for her at 6 - she did manage it but I wasn't skiing (was pregnant) and DH took her off a couple of times and then she was ill at the end of the holiday. I'm really looking forward to skiing with her and sometimes we will go and take DD2 (21 months) who will be in nursery out sledging with us as will. I don't want DS1 to feel left out while he's in Snow Club.
Mind you I had forgotten the price includes lunch so maybe it's best to book anyway as you have and take him out as and when.

I don't think you can book it day by day - I am 90% sure about it. I did ask a few years ago about it and was told no, but maybe the policy has changed.

You can usually book it day by day BUT it can be full and if you know you will want 3 or 4 day ATLEAST then I would pre-book

We have just got back from Alpe D'Huez and dd2 wanted an afternoon off - she is 7 , nearly 8, and there was no space in snow club.

That said in 2 previous years we have booked it adhoc in resort and it was fine, so it is up to you. It can be booked in resort but if you want to definatly have it, do prebook

That's interesting Crunchie. I asked over the phone and was told categorically that it cannot be booked in resort. Does it depend on the resort? Or is it just esprit telling us rubbish?
